Marks & Spencer to sell products for 1p during 125th anniversary celebrations

Marks & Spencer the original ‘penny bazaar’ are celebrating their 125th anniversary by selling a range of products for just one penny next week.
For three days from Wednesday 20th May, M&S are going to have a Penny Bazaar in all their main United Kingdom stores, these will sell twenty products including scarves, purses, knickers, cuff links, ties and socks, leather goods and other accouterments. The 1p products will be sold on a first come first served basis, with the money raised going to the M&S 125 Charity Challenge, who are planning to raise £1.25 million for good causes locally and regionally.
M&S chairman Sir Stuart Rose, said “the Penny Bazaars would take the business back to its roots” he will launch the Penny Bazaar at M&S’ flagship Marble Arch store on Oxford Street at 9am accompanied by model Twiggy.
